When I was eight, my father's software company meant we had computers at home while most families had calculators. I spent hours writing simple programs in BASIC. What struck me wasn't that I felt powerful. It was how patient the machine was. Write a command, and it executes it perfectly. Create a loop, and it repeats without fatigue or error. What that experience gave me wasn't a fascination with technology. It was an understanding of its nature: outcomes are determined by design. Errors are traceable.

Years later, when I saw Artificial Intelligence listed as a master's degree option at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, it felt like the right direction. Not because I thought I was special, but because I could already see what was coming: intelligence, embedded in machines, becoming a structural part of how the world works. I wanted to be part of it from the start.

I founded Ekohe in 2007 in Shanghai after graduating in Artificial Intelligence and Pattern Recognition. Since then, we have built systems for organizations across industries, geographies, and scales. We formalized our AI and data practice before the market found it fashionable. We have kept every core capability in-house, all under one roof, all accountable to the same standard.

Nearly twenty years later, the gap between what intelligence can do and what organizations are actually prepared to govern, operate, and sustain has not closed. It has widened. AI has moved from a specialist discipline to a general organizational expectation. Most organizations are still figuring out what responsible integration actually requires. That is still what we are here for.

The eight-year-old who marveled at a patient machine is still here. The difference is the machine is no longer just patient. It is becoming intelligent. And the work is to make sure that intelligence is built well, governed honestly, and useful to people who depend on it.
